shoes-0.r465-novideo.zip not functional

The pre-compiled binary installation of shoes in shoes-0.r465-novideo.zip is not functional on my system running WinXP-Pro.

Clicking on the shoes.exe icon does not bring up a file picker as I would expect.

Running from a command line, both G:\RubyEtc?\shoes-0.r465>shoes

and

G:\RubyEtc?\shoes-0.r465>shoes samples\book.rb

just return to a 'dos' prompt with no output or feedback.

Hmmm...

WinXP Home SP1 system. zipped versions of r465 with and without video both seem to run apps and bring up file picker OK.

WinXP Pro SP2 system. In a domain, no admin rights. zipped versions of r465 with and without video both fail to run, no errors, just return control. Perhaps of interest, r304, the last version I took a zipped copy of, DOES still run OK on this same XP Pro SP2 system.

So, I conclude that some change in Shoes post r304 is conflicting with something in my WinXP Pro domain environment.

Would you mind trying the normal + video zip? Or perhaps an installer? I re-tested the zips on blank XP and Vista machines with no trouble.
